Unique Learning Vacations

The Churchill Northern Studies Centre offers high-quality adventure study tours. Each five day course is a true learning experience led by professional scientists and expert guides. They are designed to promote a deep understanding and appreciation of the culture, history and wildlife of the Churchill area. There are no tests and no grades. Daily guided tours and presentations will open new doors to learning for even the most seasoned traveller.

The CNSC offers programs on birding, arctic wildlife, winter survival, beluga whales, wildflowers (botany), northern lights & astronomy and, of course, polar bears. Some learning vacations are offered by the Centre and are open to anyone of any age, while others are organized by Exploritas and accessible to those 55+.  All meals, airport/train shuttle, local tours, wildlife viewing opportunities and presentations are included in the course price.  Follow the links to learn more about these exciting learning adventure packages.

Stay at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre, an active research facility located 23 km outside of town where the northern reach of the boreal forest meets the southern extent of arctic tundra.  Interact with scientists working on a wide variety of projects.  Accommodations are basic, with dormitory style rooms (each sleeping between 4 - 8 people during peak season) and shared washrooms.
