The CNSC offers school groups 3-4 day programming that explores the three distinct biomes of the Canadian sub-arctic. Work with the on-site Program Coordinator to design a trip to meet the needs of your students. Included are complimentary pick-up from the train station or the airport, most meals and accommodation. We greet you at your point of entry and whisk you 23 km from the town of Churchill to the Churchill Northern Studies Centre located on the coast of Hudson Bay.

After your group has settled into their dormitory rooms we will take you on a facility orientation followed by a guided walking tour of the former Churchill Research (Rocket) Range site. Visit us in the summer time (June-September) and you can experience the arrival of the beluga whales that frequent the Churchill River Estuary in the thousands, explore the historic Fort Prince of Wales, experience the northern tradition of transportation by dog team (we use carts in the warm weather), watch for migrating and nesting birds, learn about the various wildflowers, discover fossils or speak with a local aboriginal elder. In the colder months take a Tundra Vehicle excursion (October and November) to search for the magnificent polar bears, learn about the northern tradition of dog teams while visiting a local musher, or perhaps build an igloo (February and March). Visits to the Eskimo Museum and Parks Canada Exhibits can be arranged at any time of the year.

School group programs are available throughout February-March and June-November. Our staff can provide lectures on a variety of age-appropriate topics and work the program to suit your needs at competitive rates.
